(Stephens) Deschamps (1840-1909)
Ann Stephens Deschamps was born in tiny Pencader,
Carmarthenshire, Wales (probably at Alltfechan Terrace,
a group of old row houses still standing in 1996), 10 October
1840 to David Phillips Stephens and Jane Evans. She was baptized on 5
July 1854. She crossed the Atlantic on the “Cynosure,” departing Liverpool 30
May 1863, and pulled a handcart across the Plains. She received her endowments 30
March 1867 in the Endowment House, Salt Lake City, the same day she was sealed to LouisDeschamps.

Here, she stands beside her daughter, Rosalie
Jane’s (17 Feb 1868-14 Feb 1897) grave in the St. John Cemetery, St.
John, Idaho.
